9/23/2021 – Mountain Song & Story Ep. #113

9/23/2021
Episode #113 “Mussels”

Today, I’ll be talking about mussels. Specifically freshwater mussels! The Clinch River right here in SWVA has the most diverse eco system of freshwater filtering mussels in the entire world. I’ll be playing music about mollusks the whole hour (can we do it? Yes we clam).  Today’s program will also feature a great story about the Irish Ballad of Molly Malone, who was a fishmonger who turns into a Ghost.
