"It'll Tickle Yore Innards!" explores Mountain Dew’s storied history, which began in the hills of Appalachia. The content also examines the region’s moonshining history and its ever-present “hillbilly” stereotype, both of which play an important role in the soft drink’s success. It is on display at the museum from February 26 to August 7, 2022.
This summer the Birthplace of Country Music Museum is offering a Teacher In-Service Program in partnership with the Tennessee State Museum. The workshops will focus on the Birthplace of Country Music Museum's lesson plans, educational resources, classroom activities, and field trip opportunities AND the Tennessee State Museum's resources, activities, and lessons for teaching students about the Reconstruction Era (while this is a Tennessee-focused museum, the materials TSM shares will also be helpful and appropriate to Virginia educators).
