About Our Programming

Radio Bristol’s diverse, original programming encompasses everything from rare, vintage recordings to live concert events hosted by local talent. Each show provides knowledge and new perspectives into the realm of Appalachian music and culture, and beyond.

WBCM-LP is our live and local channel heard regionally on 100.1 FM and here on our website. Radio Bristol Americana is an online channel featuring a diverse catalogue of contemporary artists and musical traditions that have helped shape the genre. Radio Bristol Classic features early commercial recordings including old-time, early bluegrass, classic country, blues and more. Radio Bristol is proud to offer a platform for our region’s rich music culture.

On the Air at WBCM 100.1 FM

Broadcasting live from a studio inside the permanent exhibits at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Historic Downtown Bristol, Tennessee-Virginia, WBCM Radio Bristol’s original programming features live performances by in-studio guests and a diverse blend of old-time, bluegrass, Americana, classic country, and roots-rock presented by an outstanding team of DJs—many of them musicians from the region.  With one foot placed deeply in the history of American roots music and the other stepping into the future, WBCM Radio Bristol is THE station for music aficionados and those with an ear for the obscure.

Farm and Fun Time®

Farm and Fun Time is a revival of the classic WCYB Radio program of the 1940s and 1950s that helped build the careers of The Stanley Brothers, Jim & Jesse McReynolds, and many more. The popular and heartwarming program streams and broadcasts live from the “acoustically perfect” Performance Theater inside the Birthplace of Country Music Museum before a live audience and features music performances from national and internationally touring artists. The program features an “Heirloom Recipe” segment that’s more storytelling than instruction, and live jingles performed by house band Bill and the Belles. Like its predecessor, Farm and Fun Time also offers a “Farm Report” segment—pre-recorded video vignettes that highlight agriculturists and sustainable farms in the region.
