On today’s episode of Mountain Song and Story, I’ll be talking with another Radio Bristol DJ, Lonnie Salyer! If you’re an avid Radio Bristol listener you’ll know that Lonnie has a program right here on the station called Diggin’ with Big Lon that air every Thursday at 5pm. The program discovers the rich musical heritage of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia and features music from Lonnie’s record collection of found local 45rpm and 78rpm records. On this episode you’ll hear more about Lonnie’s story including how his passion for record collecting all got started, stories of finding local records, plus some great local music!
