Bristol, Tenn.-Va. (May 3, 2021) – The Birthplace of Country Music (BCM) is excited to announce the return of live, in-person music events to the Performance Theater at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum with the revival of Radio Bristol Premieres featuring new music from The Kody Norris Show on Saturday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. EDT – following health and safety guidelines for audience members, of course!
“The Kody Norris Show has been such an asset to Radio Bristol since we started working with them in 2019,” said Radio Bristol producer Kris Truelsen. “With their help during the pandemic, we were able to continue to expand our community through the band’s fantastic work hosting the Farm and Fun Time Noon Show. We’re proud to see how well they’ve been doing despite the challenges of the pandemic. We can’t wait for our audiences to hear tunes from their new record at our first Radio Bristol Premieres in over a year-and-a-half!”
The fun-loving Kody Norris Show catapulted Radio Bristol’s Farm and Fun Time Noon Show to internet stardom as host of the weekly program, reaching millions of viewers from across the globe each Friday via Radio Bristol’s Facebook page. For the duration of the pandemic, the band streamed live each week from Norris’ home in Mountain City, Tennessee.
Radio Bristol Premieres promotes new recordings and projects from nationally recognized artists, and the station couldn’t be happier to welcome The Kody Norris Show back into the museum. The colorful bluegrass ensemble has accumulated a big following with their retro, rockabilly/hillbilly sound – one that’s deeply rooted in North American folk music. The band will perform songs from its first label release on Rebel Records, All Suited Up.
All Suited Up showcases the band’s traditional virtuosity, creative energy and passion for music. The recording is a stunning debut from one of the hardest working – and entertaining – acts in today’s bluegrass scene. The internationally-touring group has achieved many industry accolades over the past few years, perhaps most notably honored with the Rising Legend Award from the National Traditional Country Music Association (NTCMA).
Radio Bristol will offer a ticketed, online option for fans to view the show from home. Online tickets are $10. To purchase the online experience, visit the Events page at BirthplaceOfCountryMusic.org. Tickets to the live performance have now sold out, with limited, distanced seating and audience members being required to wear face coverings upon entering the museum.
