Dan Tyminski, Zach Russell on Farm and Fun Time at the Paramount

Dan Tyminski and Zach Russell play Farm and Fun Time

BRISTOL, Tenn.-Va. (Jan. 15, 2025) – WBCM Radio Bristol is proud to present 14-time GRAMMY Award-winning “Man of Constant Sorrow,” Dan Tyminski and Thirty Tigers recording artist Zach Russell on Farm and Fun Time at 7 p.m. ET, Jan. 30. The show will be recorded before a live audience from the historic stage at Paramount Bristol.

“It’s truly an honor to have Dan Tyminski join us on Farm and Fun Time as we kick off Radio Bristol’s 10th anniversary year,” said Radio Bristol Program Director and Host Kris Truelsen. “Dan’s incredible talent and legacy in bluegrass and Americana make him the perfect guest to help us celebrate this milestone. His music has inspired so many and we are thrilled to share the stage with him has we celebrate this milestone.”

Perhaps best known for being the singing voice of George Clooney in the zany comedy “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou,” and for his hit “Hey, Brother” with Swedish DJ Avicci, Tyminski has left an indelible mark on the bluegrass scene over the past 30+ years. In addition to Grammy honors, he is is a four-time International Bluegrass Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year and has lent his guitar and harmony vocals to a number of artists including Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, and Martina McBride. Additionally, Tyminski has played a central role in Alison Krauss and Union Station since 1994, where is exceptional skills on mandolin and guitar have been integral to the band’s sound. His latest release, “Dan Tyminski: Live From the Ryman,” showcases the songs and stellar musicianship for which he is so revered.

For years, Nashville has been a magnet for musicians and songwriters hoping to launch or strengthen their careers in the music industry. However, for Zach Russell, who naturally diverged from many trends in today’s music scene, the key to success came after leaving Music City. It wasn’t until he stepped away from Nashville that he signed his first record deal with the determined indie label, Thirty Tigers.

During his seven years in Nashville, Russell observed how other artists approached their craft, even spending time on the road as Tyler Childers’ merchandise manager. This experience gave him a valuable insight into what it takes to make it in music. But it was only after stepping back that Russell found clarity and inspiration. His move back to East Tennessee sparked a creative surge, leading to a collection of new songs that would form his debut album “Where the Flowers Meet the Dew.”

Kris Truelsen has spent the better part of two decades touring across the country, honing his craft as a songwriter and performer. With his latest project fronting the Farm and Fun Time House Band, he leans into the rock’n’roll side of country music. It’s rowdy, loose and unmistakably Kris. The band features an all-star lineup including Nick Lawrence (guitar), Rebecca Branson Jones (pedal steel), Sarah Griffin (bass), and Levi Trent (drums).
