BCM Presents RTE 23 Music Festival

Free Event on the Campus of UVA-Wise

Wise, Va. (July 24, 2019) – The nonprofit Birthplace of Country Music (BCM), parent organization of the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival, and WBCM Radio Bristol, presents The Fritz, C2 & the Brother’s Reed, and 49 Winchester in concert as part of the annual RTE 23 Music Festival on the campus of the University of Virginia’s College at Wise in Wise, Virginia.

The RTE 23 Music Festival, which takes place Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., is a family event that is free and open to the public.

The Fritz is a soul-driven dance rock band hailing from Asheville, N.C.  The group’s aggressive approach to funk, soul, and rock creates a sound that is uniquely their own. With powerful vocals, climactic solos, and tight grooves, The Fritz has built a devoted following and is captivating audiences everywhere.

Hailing from the Bluegrass with a sound as unique and smooth as the regions’ beloved bourbon, C2 & The Brothers Reed’s authenticity shines in their studio debut Weigh Station Tour. Forming in 2013, the brothers hit the road to spread their sound and haven’t looked back.

49 Winchester hails from the mountain town of Castlewood, Virginia, and their roots are planted in the music of Appalachia with equal parts country and soul with powerful vocals, hard-hitting songs, and heavy country-blues guitars. Singer and guitarist Isaac Gibson’s songs are poetically straightforward and his stellar vocals shine through during live performance.

RTE 23 will also offer the very best in local food offerings, craft beer vendors, and more.
