Plan A Films is shooting narrative material (non-documentary film scenes) to complement the interviews they have collected for the Orthophonic Joy documentary. Plan A Films is shooting this material (a combination of reenactments and re-imagined scenarios based on research and conjecture) to bring to life some of the things that the interviewers said as they spoke to them and to augment what they’ve discovered in their research about the sessions.
This film, commissioned by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and Virginia Tourism Corporation, is scheduled for release in Spring 2016 and accompanies last year’s album release of Orthophonic Joy: The 1927 Bristol Sessions Revisited.
NOVEMBER 30 – DECEMBER 17 (A Detailed Schedule Available Upon Request)
Plan A Films, led by Sundance Award-winning director Chusy Haney-Jardine, will hold a casting session at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. this Friday, November 13, 2015. Men, women and children ages five (5) to 70 who can sing and play instruments, and musicians with no acting experience, are invited to audition.
Plan A Films is currently casting roles for the entire film. Plan A Films has already confirmed three (3) professional film actors. Following is the list of roles that require filling.
