The Arts Alliance Mountain Empire has partnered with the Birthplace of Country Music Museum and the William King Museum of Art to present its 2016-2017 Speaker Series. Five speakers will present six talks around the common theme: "Art in Appalachia, Appalachia in the World." The Old Field Singers will lead a Shape Note Sing in the Christian Harmony style (as opposed to Sacred Harp) at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum March 25. The event is free and open to everyone of all ages. Participants will learn the tradition of shape note singing in a group with no experience necessary.
