About Roxanne McDaniel
Roxanne is a singer/songwriter, dulcimer player, and teacher from Tazewell, Tennessee. For the last ten years, she has called Johnson City her home. A graduate of the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass program, her musical interests span a variety of genres from old time, country, and Celtic, to pop and rock.
She performs as a solo artist, as well as with her backing band, The Big Bad Buzz. She believes in giving back to the community and is the music director for the nonprofit Art Transforms. She has partnered with schools and organizations in the northeast Tennessee area to preserve and promote Appalachian culture through her after school dulcimer program. She has recently joined the faculty at The McKinney Center in Historic Jonesborough where she teaches individual dulcimer instruction.
