Kris Truelsen

RADIO HOST

On the Sunny Side

9 AM - 11 AM

About Kris Truelsen

As Radio Bristol Program Director, Kris directs and shapes programming for the station’s four diverse channels including WBCM-LP, Radio Bristol Classic, Radio Bristol Americana, and Radio Bristol Video.

“As the first student to earn a Master’s degree in Appalachian Studies from East Tennessee State University, I am glad to be still digging into that content in my day-to-day job. I get to continue to expand and share my knowledge of traditional American music through my role at the radio station, and it’s exciting that my enthusiasm surrounding early country music touches audiences internationally through this role. I also produce and host specific programming at Radio Bristol, including the historic radio program Farm and Fun Time, the Farm and Fun Time Noon Show, Radio Bristol Sessions, and the daily morning program On the Sunny Side.”

“I am also a member of Bill and the Belles, a popular string band based out of Johnson City, Tennessee. I have worked diligently on my yodeling for over a decade and still can’t do it. Be sure to tune in every weekday morning from 9 to 11am EST to hear me on my morning show On the Sunny Side – you might get lucky and hear me try a yodel!”
