We want YOU to join our wonderful team of volunteers at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum!
Hosted by the East Tennessee Bluegrass Association, these monthly jams are a gathering of bluegrass musicians of all ages and skill levels. Held every fourth Saturday of the month.
As part of the NEA Big Read, partner organizations the Bristol Public Library, Washington County Public Library, and Birthplace of Country Music Museum are offering a full schedule of NEA Big Read programs at all three sites – and beyond – during October and November 2024, including book discussions, a film screening, writing and family history workshops, author talks, an art exhibit, and a storytelling evening!
As part of the NEA Big Read, the museum – along with partner organizations Bristol Public Library and Washington County Public Library – are giving away free copies of the community read book, Burning Bright by Ron Rash, and companion book, Same Sun Here by Neela Vaswani and Silas House.
Aimed at toddler-age children and their grown-ups, we will gather on the first Friday of each month to read a music or Appalachia-related storybook, sing along with WBCM Radio Bristol show host Ella Patrick, and enjoy a related activity or coloring sheet. There is no cost to attend.
Join us on Thursday, October 4, 6:30 p.m. for a screening of The Library that Dolly Built, a documentary about the creation and impact of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
