Monthly Community Jam!

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum is now hosting a monthly gathering of local musicians for a full-on community jam session! These free jams are open to all ages and all skill levels; those interested in just coming along to listen to good music are also welcome!

A free film screening for Soundtrack of a Revolution, a docudrama exploring the civil rights struggle through powerful and stirring songs that inspired a generation.

Community Conversations about Race: A moderated panel discussion

A panel discussion exploring race reconciliation and how to engage in difficult conversations about race in your community, the importance of representing African American experiences, and the power of media imagery on perceptions of race issues.

Back by popular demand: Square Dance at the Museum! Join us for an evening of old-fashioned square dancing and fun! Caller Tyler Hughes will lead the evening and we’ll have lively music to get your feet moving. No partner or experience necessary – just a desire to have a great night out!

I Have a Voice: Tennessee’s African American Musical Heritage

The special exhibit I Have a Voice gives a snapshot of African American Tennesseans’ important contribution to American music, including spirituals, blues, ragtime, jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and soul music.
