Radio Bristol’s Farm & Fun Time hosts The Royal Hounds and Lillie Mae on Thursday, June 8 in the Performance Theater at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.
Farm & Fun Time, the historic Radio Program broadcasting from Downtown Bristol, was a staple to listeners across the Southeast during the 1940s and 1950s on the former WCYB Radio. Radio Bristol breathes new life into the classic program with a fun, energetic show broadcasting live from the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Hosted by Radio Bristol producer and house band-leader Kris Truelsen, Farm & Fun Time is an event the whole family can enjoy live, in the studio or when gathered around their radios.
Nashville headliners, The Royal Hounds, are a high energy roots rock ‘n’ roll trio. They have been wowing and entertaining audiences across the globe for years with their unique approach to live music. Known for their on-stage antics and humorous approach to music, The Royal Hounds offer a live show that is unlike anything on the scene now. Not content to merely stand there and play, The Royal Hounds successfully marry quality musicianship with stellar showmanship. No wonder they have shared the stage with Johnny Cash’s band, The Tennessee Three, Travis Tritt, Wanda Jackson, and Big Sandy.
Discovered by the legendary Cowboy Jack Clement when playing with her family band The Rische’s, Lillie Mae has also spent considerable time as a member of Jack White’s crack touring and recording combo, playing fiddle and mandolin while also lending vocals to such tracks as “Temporary Ground,” from 2014’s Grammy-winning Lazaretto. She also joined White on fiddle and backing vocals for a special acoustic performance on A Prairie Home Companion with Chris Thile last October.
