Photograph by Todd McLellan.\nTAKE THINGS APART AT KINGSPORT MINI MAKER FAIRE July 22!\nThe Birthplace of Country Music Museum will host a booth and a “take apart” table at the Kingsport Mini Maker Faire on Saturday\, July 22. Kids will be able to take things apart in order to learn more about how they work. They will also learn more about the Things Come Apart special exhibit happening at the museum. \nKingsport Mini Maker Faire will host a variety of fun activities while kids learn about robotics\, 3D printing\, amateur radio\, and much\, much more. The Tennessee Tech STEMobile classroom and Kingsport’s own Model City Makerspace will also be in attendance at the faire. \nThings Come Apart is a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution on display at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum from July 15 to October 8\, 2017. \nThings Come Apart embraces key STEAM (science\, technology\, engineering\, art and math) concepts and provides an ideal environment for hands-on experimentation\, tinkering\, and creative makerspaces. Through support from the Smithsonian Women’s Committee\, the exhibition includes three hands-on Activity Kits created by the Smithsonian’s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation’s SparkLab. \nThere is no entry fee to the Kingsport Mini Maker Faire\, but organizers ask that everyone register to help them gauge attendance.
