The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, based in Bristol, TN/VA, is dedicated to calling attention to the crucial role played by artists from East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and the southern Appalachian region in country, bluegrass, and other musical avenues which have been nurtured by this region. Attending not only to the past, BCMA has developed programs which address this musical heritage in the present and promote its continuation into the future.

The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance is a non-profit grassroots organization established to preserve and promote the rich musical heritage of our region. The group was first formed through cooperation of civic, education and tourist governmental and music related interests on April 7, 1994, and was established as a non-profit organization in 1996.

The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance works in tandem with other organizations in the Tri-Cities to present a united effort consistent with the BCMA's mission and objectives. The BCMA also works with a variety of local, state, and national organizations and governmental bodies to help preserve and promote our region and its heritage.
